About me

I am a clinical psychologist, registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). I completed my training at Wits University, South Africa, and have been in private practice for 13 years.

 

I did my internship and community service at Tara Hospital, having worked on both children and adult wards. On the children's ward, I did therapy as well as assessments. I worked with children, teenagers, and parents. I ran an inpatient therapy group and did outreach work at a school running various therapy groups (self-esteem, bullying). On the adult ward (Ward 4 & 5), I saw adults for individual therapy, performed assessments, and ran various therapy groups (DBT, family support, life skills). During my time on both wards, I did family therapy, attended supervision, ward rounds, case presentations and reading groups.

 

Aside from my private practice, I am a consultant psychologist at Wedge Gardens Treatment Centre (part of Rand Aid) which is a male rehabilitation facility for substance and alcohol abuse.

 

Other services I offer, include psycho-education, bereavement counselling, and trauma debriefings to groups and organisations and I am an affiliate of several employee wellness programs both locally and internationally.    

 

I have written articles for school newsletters, appeared as a professional expert on television, print and radio (Special Assignment, SAfm) and I organize CPD events and talks specializing in couples therapy.

 

Prior to my formal training, I was a volunteer counsellor at Lifeline for several years.
